HALLS WITHIN THE LONG VIEW CENTER
The Long View Center is comprised of five halls used as places to gather for various events and activities.
Freedoms Hall: Capacity 450
Freedoms Hall is our main hall, accessible from Hargett Street
just across from Moore Square Park and adjacent to Exploris
Middle School. It is the former sanctuary of the Tabernacle
Baptist Church and boasts some of the best natural acoustics
of any venue in the Triangle.

The bulk of events at Long View Center happen within the walls of Freedoms Hall. Freedoms Hall is available to anyone who wishes to be married in a non-denominational setting complete with 64 stained glass windows, bell tower, and elegant architecture not found in many contemporary churches.

Freedoms Hall is also the home to a newly-established Acoustic Concert Series, a monthly program of some of the finest singer/songwriters touring both nationally and internationally. Freedoms Hall is the perfect mid-sized venue for taking in such well-known acts as Arlo Guthrie and Tift Merritt and is the place to discover lesser-known and up-and-coming talent. Though we produce shows internally, Freedoms Hall is available to any outside groups or producers looking for an elegant, non-smoking atmosphere in a setting geared toward a more mature audience. Please check our calendar for upcoming concerts or availability of this space for your event.
Freedoms Hall and its ancillary rooms (the Green Room, Sarah's Room and the Parlor) are also available to any group needing a mid-sized hall for lectures, author appearances, keynote speakers, performances, film screenings or just about any other event for which you would need an auditorium.
The 1880 Hall: Capacity 100
Entrance to the 1880 Hall
The lower-level 1880 Hall, complete with catering kitchen,
is the most utilitarian of all our halls and is accessible via
the black gate on the left at the Hargett Street side of the
Center and adjacent to Exploris Middle School.

It is home to the Long View Gallery which is a joint project between the Long View Center and the Collectors Gallery at City Market. Featured here is the exhibition of "Lost?" The artwork rotates on, primarily, a quarterly schedule. Gallery hours are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm or by appointment.
If concerts or theater are of interest to you, the 1880 Hall serves as
a small performance space and is available to outside organizations for
rental.
The 1880 Hall also serves as our reception hall for weddings, holiday
parties, corporate meetings, and a variety of classes including 8-week
Yoga sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5:30 pm - 7:00
pm.
Futures Hall
Futures Hall is a two-level office suite that has recently been renovated and is available for lease. Access is at the rear of the Center off Person Street. If you are interested in learning more about this unique office space, please contact Mitchell Meeks at 919-427-5486.
